What I do:
Project management and coordination working primarily across the creative and cultural industries. I’ve a great track record in ‘making it happen’ – taking a project through from inception through to completion.
Development and coordination of websites. I work with clients to take ownership of their web presence, either working from scratch or overhauling existing websites. I help people to identify and source appropriate online resources and services to support their business aims and objectives.
A selection of recent projects:
Setting up, marketing and running ‘start’ through the ‘Sarah and Sian‘ consultancy partnership. start is a business advisory service for the arts and creative industries. The service was originally Milton Keynes based, but has now grown through a number of new partnerships throughout the South and West Midlands Regions.
Cultural Offer, Milton Keynes
Carried out research consultancy for Milton Keynes Council relating to their Cultural Offer bid. This involved consulting with a wide range of arts and heritage organisations from the area offering cultural experiences for children and young people.
Keynote Programme, Knowle West Media Centre
Consultation, strategic development and programme design for KWMC’s Keynote Programme. The programme centered on the representation of young people and several projects were devised and designed by and for young people around using media to represent their ideas, views and identities. My role was as consultant on developing project strands and creating and implementing a fundraising strategy to support new and existing projects.
Camberwell Arts, London
Online consultancy and development of a content management system for a commity Arts organisation in South East London. Coordinated online marketing campaign and developed the organisation’s online profile;
I have carried out business development, project management and web development work for a range of arts professionals and organisations. Some recent clients include Royal College of Art, Winchester Chamber Music Festival, Artworks-mk and Sound and Music.
NESTA (National Endowment for Science, Technology and the Arts)
Prior to setting up my consultancy practice, I was portfolio coordinator at NESTA’s Creative Pioneer Programme. This entailed marketing and PR coordination and fund portfolio management as well as coordinating an intensive residential training and development programme for creative graduates.
I am also currently company secretary for David Bucknall Cabinets, my husband’s cabinet making business.
