Services

Your website should reflect your business, your brand and ethos.

Image is important, user-friendliness and accessibility arguably even more so.

The following is an overview of some of the services I offer to ensure that your website and web-presence works for your and your audience:

Spruce-up:

Got a website that’s dated and stuck? Haven’t a clue how to update it? Need help getting it under-control without blowing your budget on a full scale re-development? I can investigate the most simple and cost-effective way in which to bring your site back up to date and identify ways for you to manage it going forward.

Re-Work & Re-organise:

Perhaps your site is very well used, but has become busy and confused – perhaps with a scattering of broken links, and information that’s hard to find. This site can benefit from an objective view-point and re-structuring to bring the focus back to the end-user. I can re-design the ‘architecture’ of your web-site so that it makes sense to third parties and is easy to navigate and use. This kind of virtual librarianship will keep your audience happy and sane.

Start from Scratch:

Not got a website? Want a new website entirely? I start with identifying why you need one, how you’ll use it and want to manage it, and how it will be accessed by your customers. From here I draw up recommendations based on your needs and your budget. I can manage all aspects of this from the content design, graphic design and structure through to building a test site, user-testing and sourcing all the relevant technology that your site will need to function. I will make sure your site is web-standards compliant, browser tested and search engine optimised.

If required, I have a network of associates with specialist capabilities in web-development, graphics, photography, etc., and so am able to resource and manage the design and development of more complex websites. I have 10 years of project management experience that comes in handy on larger projects.

Add Function:

I can add functionality to your website – for example, the ability to manage a mailing list and e-newsletters. I can also source new hosting, upgrade to a content managed website, brief you on social networking and how to manage it using your website. I can help you to achieve better search results through Google and other major search engines.

  • Testimonial:

Sarah has worked extensively both on my own website (www.sharonarts.eu) and on that of one of my arts projects, the Winchester Chamber Music Festival (www.winchesterchambermusic.com)

She has made significant improvements to their general 'look' and also ensured that they are simple to navigate. Next, she taught me the basics of updating, so that I can now make simple revisions whenever I want, which is
extremely useful. Sarah is efficient, thorough and a pleasure to work with - and is always at the end of a phone if I need some last minute advice! I have no hesitation in recommending her.

  • Testimonial:

"Sarah not only worked with me to design my website but has supported me in using and developing it over the last two years. She offers a unique combination of rigorous technical capability alongside great creative flair that brings reassurance and inspiration together in the delivery.

Sarah has been a patient teacher, thorough and considered in how she transferred knowledge that enabled me taking on aspects of managing the site myself, and consistently warm and generous with her time and insight."
